A - Page 1 - +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Readme file for SDF V4.6A | | | | Edition: October 2004 | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ This README file describes the extensions valid for SDF V4.6A These extensions refer to the following manual: [1] SDF V4.5A (BS2000/OSD) Introductory Guide to the SDF Dialog Interface Order number: U2339-J-Z125-8-76 [2] SDF V4.5A (BS2000/OSD) SDF Management Order number: U2622-J-Z125-10-76 Contents -------- 1 Summary of changes ........................................ Page 2 2 Modified commands ......................................... Page 2 2.1 SHOW-CMD ................................................. Page 2 2.2 SHOW-SDF-OPTIONS ......................................... Page 4 2.3 SHOW-SDF-PARAMETERS ...................................... Page 6 A - Page 2 - 1 Summary of changes -------------------- The following commands have been modified in SDF V4.6A : - SHOW-CMD In SDF V4.6A, the input mode can also be taken into account to decide whether or not commands/operands/values must be displayed. - SHOW-SDF-OPTIONS A new value (*GROUP) has been added in order to allow the user to better tune the desired output of the command. - SHOW-SDF-PARAMETERS In SDF V4.6A, the command enables wildcards to be used for subsystem names in order to tune the generated output. 2 Modified commands ------------------- 2.1 SHOW-CMD ------------ (see the manual "Introductory Guide" [1], page 201 et seqq.) A new operand (CHECK-INPUT-MODE) has been added: the input mode can also be taken into account to decide whether or not commands/operands/ values must be displayed. In the section "Function" the description of the FORM operand changed and the description of the new operand must be added: The FORM operand controls output of syntax objects whose input is not permitted in guided dialog. FORM=*UNGUIDED shows the command syntax which can also be entered in unguided dialog, or a command list which also contains aliases of the command names. Commands and operands which are not permitted in guided dialog are indicated in the output with an asterisk (*). The CHECK-INPUT-MODE operand controls the output of syntax objects which may only be input in a particular input mode. Users can thus inform themselves as to which operands and values are permissible, for example, for input in batch mode. If no input mode is specified (*NO), commands and operands for which restrictions exist as regards the input modes (interactive mode, batch mode, procedure in inter- active or batch mode) are marked with an asterisk (*). A - Page 3 - Format ------ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | SHOW-CMD | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | CMD-NAME = *ALL / | | ---- | | ,INFORMATION = *MINIMUM / *MEDIUM / *MAXIMUM | | -------- | | ,FORM = *GUIDED / *UNGUIDED | | ------- | | ,CHECK-PRIVILEGES = *YES / *NO | | ---- | | ,CHECK-INPUT-MODE = *CURRENT / *DIALOG / *DIALOG-PROC / |* | -------- |* | *BATCH / *BATCH-PROC / *NO |* | | | ,OUTPUT = *SYSOUT / *SYSLST | | ------- | | *SYSLST (...) | | | SYSLST-NUMBER = *STD / | | | ---- | | | ,LINES-PER-PAGE = *STD / *UNLIMITED / | | ---- | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ Description of the new operand: ------------------------------- CHECK-INPUT-MODE = Determines the input mode for which the syntax is to be displayed. Only those syntax objects are displayed for the user which are permissible in the specified input mode. CHECK-INPUT-MODE = *CURRENT Default. The output contains only the syntax objects permitted for the current input mode. CHECK-INPUT-MODE = *DIALOG The output contains only the syntax objects permitted for interactive mode. CHECK-INPUT-MODE = *DIALOG-PROC The output contains only the syntax objects permitted for the inter- active procedure mode. CHECK-INPUT-MODE = *BATCH The output contains only the syntax objects permitted for batch mode. CHECK-INPUT-MODE = *BATCH-PROC The output contains only the syntax objects permitted for the batch procedure mode. CHECK-INPUT-MODE = *NO Output takes place independently of the input mode. The output lines with commands and operands which are not permitted in the current input mode are marked with an asterisk (*). A - Page 4 - 2.2 SHOW-SDF-OPTIONS -------------------- (see the manual "Introductory Guide" [1], page 213 et seqq. resp. the manual "SDF Management" [2], page 63 et seqq.) A new value (*GROUP) has been added in order to allow the user to better tune the desired output of the command. In the section "Function" the description of the INFORMATION operand must be extended: The INFORMATION operand controls the scope of the information to be displayed. INFORMATION=*USER provides information only on settings which the user can modify via MODIFY-SDF-OPTIONS for each task: this information includes the names and versions of all activated user syntax files and all settings of the SDF options. INFORMATION=*GROUP provides the names and versions of the activated group syntax files in addition to the user-specific settings. Format ------ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | SHOW-SDF-OPTIONS Alias: SHSDFO | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | |* | INFORMATION = *ALL / *USER / *GROUP |* | ---- | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ Description of the Operands: ---------------------------- INFORMATION = *ALL / *USER / *GROUP Determines the scope of the information to be displayed. INFORMATION = *ALL Default: Outputs information on the activated syntax files and the current settings of the SDF options. INFORMATION = *USER Outputs information on the activated user syntax files and the current settings of the SDF options. INFORMATION = *GROUP Outputs information on the activated group and user syntax files and the current settings of the SDF options. A - Page 5 - For return codes and output formats refer to the manual [1] resp. [2]. S variable output: ------------------ The complete table of the S variables is contained in the manuals [1] resp. [2]. The following note extends the section "Notes on the contents of S variables": The INFORMATION operand controls the output scope with regard to the active syntax files: *GROUP suppresses the information on system and subsystem files and *USER suppresses the information on system, subsystem and group syntax files. An variable structure SF with the S variables F-NAME, TYPE and VERSION is created for each active syntax file contained in the output. Exception: If no user syntax file is activated, a variable structure with TYPE=*USER is created anyway, with the F-NAME and VERSION variables containing the empty string. A - Page 6 - 2.3 SHOW-SDF-PARAMETERS ----------------------- (see the manual "SDF Management" [2], page 66 et seqq.) In SDF V4.6A, the command offers the possibility to use wildcards for subsystem-names in order to tune the generated output. Format ------ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | SHOW-SDF-PARAMETERS | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | SCOPE = *TEMPORARY / *NEXT-SESSION(...) | | ---------- | | *NEXT-SESSION(...) | | | PARAMETER-FILE-NAME = *CURRENT / | | -------- | | ,SYNTAX-FILE-TYPE = *ALL / *SYSTEM / *GROUP(...) / | | --- *SUBSYSTEM(...) / *NONE | | *GROUP(...) | | | PROFILE-ID = *ALL / | | ---- | | *SUBSYSTEM(...) |* | | SUBSYSTEM-NAME = *ALL / |* | ---- | | ,SYSTEM-LOGON-PROC = *YES / *NO | | ---- | | ,SYSTEM-LOGON-INCL = *YES / *NO | | ---- | | ,SYSTEM-LOGOFF-PROC = *YES / *NO | | ---- | | ,SYSTEM-LOGOFF-INCL = *YES / *NO | | ---- | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ Description of the modified operand: ------------------------------------ SYNTAX-FILE-TYPE = *SUBSYSTEM(...) The names of the subsystem syntax files are to be output. SUBSYSTEM-NAME = Specifies the subsystems for which the syntax files are to be selected. SUBSYSTEM-NAME = *ALL Default: The names of all the system syntax files which are assigned to a subsystem are to be output. SUBSYSTEM-NAME = The syntax files of the specified subsystems are to be displayed. For return codes, output formats and S variables refer to the manual [2].
