Hardware requirements IMON V3.0 can be run on all systems which support BS2000/OSD V5.0 or higher. Software requirements - BS2000/OSD-BC V5.0 or higher Optionally required: - LMS from version 3.2 onwards (for installation from a PLAM library, SOLFTR delivery) ... Manual page 321: Statement CHECK-UNITS Note The statement is rejected and an error message is displayed in following cases: - The opened SCI does not correspond to a standard one of the current system (name differs from ::$TSOS.SYS.IMON.SCI) ... Manual page 363: Statement INSTALL-UNITS Note 13: Undo files are only generated when UNDO-PREPARATION=*PARAMETERS(...) is explicitly specified. The metadata saved in these files are required for the original state (Undo function). A different volume is used for every UNDO preparation if data saving on data medium is selected. A - Page 2 - 3 Remark related to SYSMES.EKP.nn ---------------------------------- Manual page 110: (Modify following sentence) Messages files ... - The message files of the release units BCAM, CALENDAR, DSSM, FITC, MIP and SRPMNUC are merged in the global message file that is defined in the MSGFIL02 system parameter (default is $TSOS.SYMES.EKP.01). If the global message file is already activated, it is first deactivated, extended, and then reactivated. 4 Additional warning related to the POSIX processing ----------------------------------------------------- Manual page 111: (add following warning) POSIX satellites WARNING: Both files $SYSROOT.IMON.ACTIONS.ADD and $SYSROOT.IMON.ACTIONS.REM must be saved under a temporary name, when the POSIX subsystem is restarted before the installed release unit, containing POSIX item, is activated. The POSIX installation program has only access to the newly installed release units when these ones are in status LOCKED=NO in the SCI. 5 Additional warning related to the installation processing ------------------------------------------------------------ Manual page 209: (add following warning at the end of the page) Specific installation process In the frame of re-installation of already activated SDF or MES items, IMON, first, deactivates the currently activated file, renames it by suffixing with 3 digits (starting from .001 to .999), reactivates the suffixed file and finally installs the new item under its standard name. At next startup, suffixed SYSMES and SYSSDF items are automatically erased. A - Page 3 - 6 Modification of scope for parameter file usage by install ------------------------------------------------------------ Manual page 243: Parameter file Specifies if a parameter file with predefined values has to be used. This input field only refers to the IMON parameter file for default installation parameters (default name is $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON.LAST). Against this the SYSPAR.IMON. parameter file for optional installation functions is always taken into consideration when present. 1 (None) The $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON.LAST is ignored, only the old one $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON. will be taken into consideration. 2 (Standard) Both parameter files $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON.LAST and $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON. will be used. Manual page 358: PARAMETER-FILE=*STD Default parameter files $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON.LAST and $TSOS.SYSPAR. IMON. (for optional installation functions) will be used (when present). PARAMETER-FILE=*NO The $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON.LAST is ignored, only $TSOS.SYSPAR.IMON. (for optional installation functions) will be used (when present). A - Page 4 - 7 Support of future target system version BS2000/OSD V8.0 ---------------------------------------------------------- Values which concern target system version 8.0 are implemented but still not described. Add following note (Manual page 317): 7. An automatic selection of the items to register is made based on the specified target system version and the target id associated to the item as follows: - 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 : only items with target id A, S and P are processed Change in manual, page 351 and 352: PROCESSOR-TYPE= Specifies the hardware type of the target system for installing hardware-dependent release items. PROCESSOR-TYPE = *STD Value found in the PVS-INFO record associated to the specified target pubset in the IMON parameter file, if any specified. Hardware type depending on target BS2000/OSD-BC version otherwise: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | Target system version | *STD corresponds to | |------------------------|--------------------------------------------| | BS2000/OSD-BC V5.0 to | *ANY; each value described at *ANY is | | V7.0 | permitted (*CISC-390, *SPARC) | |------------------------|--------------------------------------------| ... PROCESSOR-TYPE = *ANY The release items whose hardware variants are supported in the target system are installed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | Target system version | Supported hardware types | |--------------------------|------------------------------------------| | BS2000/OSD-BC V5.0 to | *CISC-390 and *SPARC | | V7.0 | | |--------------------------|------------------------------------------| A - Page 5 - 8 New operand IDF-FORMAT by the GENERATE-IDF statement ------------------------------------------------------- Manual page 332: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | GENERATE-IDF | |--------------------------------------------------------------------| | ... | | | | ,GENERATE-FILE-PREFIX = ... | | | | ,IDF-FORMAT= *CURRENT / *V1 / *V2 | | -------- | | ... | | | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Insert in manual, page 336: IDF-FORMAT= Specifies which version of format of IDF has to be generated, i.e. for which version of IMON this IDF is intended. IDF-FORMAT=*CURRENT The generated IDF is intended to be used with IMON-BAS from current version and up (default). IDF-FORMAT=*V1 The generated IDF is intended to be used with IMON-BAS version lower than V3.0. IDF-FORMAT=*V2 The generated IDF is intended to be used with IMON-BAS version from V3.0 and up. 9 New optional function in install parameter file -------------------------------------------------- Manual page 459 (add at the end): - The product movement file (PBD) for each delivery is saved in the customer system in the PLAM library $.SOLLIB.IMON.PBD. You can optionally specify that this PBD file is to be deleted at the end of the installation process without saving it in the PLAM library. - On customer systems where DEFLUID ($.) differs from $TSOS, both TASKLIB and MACROLIB libraries are processes in a standard way under $TSOS. You can optionally specify that on such systems, both libraries are to be processed under $. A - Page 6 - 10 Additional warning related to the IMON reference file --------------------------------------------------------- Manual page 476 (add after the exemple of layout): Remark : all dates and times in the $SERVICE.SOLREF.IMON.SW-CONF file, as well as in the global SCI, are always GMT ones and may so differ from the real date and time from customer system.
